Audiology (MSc)
Audiologists are healthcare professionals who specialize in the prevention, diagnosis, and management of hearing and balance disorders for people across the lifespan. They conduct advanced tests to determine the precise nature and extent of these conditions, developing personalized treatment plans that can include the prescription and programming of hearing aids, cochlear implants, and other assistive technologies.
Why choose this program?
Audiologists provide person-centered rehabilitation to help patients adapt to hearing loss and navigate communication challenges, in addition to offering specialized therapies for managing conditions like tinnitus and auditory processing disorder. They may oversee infant hearing screening and intervention programs, providing family-centered care to ensure children achieve optimal speech, language, and social development.
Audiologists also lead hearing loss prevention initiatives in the community and industry, and contribute to their field through research and teaching in university programs.
