The Faculty of Computer Science offers competitive entrance awards to recognize academic excellence, leadership, and passion for computing. These awards support students entering the Bachelor of Computer Science (BCS) or Bachelor of Applied Computer Science (BACS) in the Fall term.

Multiple awards are granted each year.

Application-Based Entrance Scholarships

The following scholarships require a separate application. These awards allow students to share more about themselves, including their experiences, leadership, community involvement, and passion for computer science.

FACULTY OF COMPUTER SCIENCE ENTRANCE SCHOLARSHIP

$5,000 (paid in first year) | Multiple awarded

This scholarship recognizes outstanding students who combine academic excellence with leadership and a strong vision for their future in computer science. Successful applicants demonstrate curiosity, initiative, and a desire to make meaningful contributions through technology.

WeAreAllCS Entrance Scholarships

WeAreAllCS Women in Technology Entrance Scholarship $10,000 (paid over two years) | Multiple awarded

The WeAreAllCS Women in Technology Scholarship supports students who identify as women or non-binary and who are pursuing studies in computer science. These awards recognize academic achievement, leadership, and a passion for innovation while supporting students from backgrounds historically underrepresented in technology and who may face additional barriers to entering the field.

WeAreAllCS Indigenous Student Entrance Scholarship $10,000 (paid over two years) | Multiple awarded

This scholarship supports Indigenous students entering BCS or BACS who demonstrate strong academic performance, leadership, and a vision for how they hope to use computer science to contribute to their communities, industries, or areas of research. It is designed to help reduce barriers and increase Indigenous representation in computing.

WeAreAllCS Women in Technology Entrance Scholarship $10,000 (paid over two years) | Multiple awarded

This scholarship supports African Nova Scotian and African descent students who demonstrate academic excellence, leadership, and a passion for advancing in computer science. The award recognizes students who may face systemic barriers in technology fields and who are committed to building a future in computing.

NSCC IT ARTICULATION SCHOLARSHIP

$5,000 (paid in first year) | Multiple awarded

The NSCC IT Articulation Scholarship recognizes graduates of eligible NSCC IT diploma programs who are continuing their education within two years of graduation. This award celebrates academic achievement, personal drive, and a clear commitment to advancing career and research goals through a computer science degree. It supports students who are motivated to deepen their expertise and expand their impact in the field.
