Admissions Requirements

Ready to join Atlantic Canada’s largest tech hub? Our updated admission requirements are designed to be more inclusive, ensuring that talented students from all backgrounds have a pathway into computer science.

Both the BCS and BACS program require:

  • Grade 12 Academic Math (Grade 12 Pre-calculus is recommended but no longerÌýrequired)
  • Grade 12 Academic English
  • ThreeÌýadditionalÌýGrade 12 Academic Subjects
  • A minimum overall average of 70%

What if I don't have Pre-calculus?

We have updated our math requirements to remove barriers for students who may not have had access to pre-calculus in high school. While Grade 12 Pre-calculus remains highly recommended for success in our most technical streams, it is not a requirement for admission.

We encourage you to explore our program pages to see how math integrated into each degree. Some pathways include rigorous core math courses, while others focus more on the application of technology in business and society.   • NSCC Articulation Agreement: Graduates of eligible NSCC IT diplomas can fast-track their education by transferring directly into our Bachelor of Applied Computer Science.
