Renewable scholarships
If you received a renewable entrance scholarship, you will be automatically assessed each year to determine if you qualify for renewal. Assessments are typically completed in late July, or September for co-op students.
In-course scholarships
If youÌýdon’tÌýhave a renewable scholarship,Ìýyou’llÌýautomatically be considered for in-course scholarships each year.
- Awards typically range fromÌý$500 to $2,000
- Initial assessment occurs inÌýSeptember, following completion of final summer term grades
- Decisions are based on grades from theÌýpreviousÌýacademic year
- Complete at leastÌý30 credit hoursÌýof HÂþ» courseworkÌý
- Take courses acrossÌýtwo academic termsÌýin theÌýpreviousÌýacademic year
- Achieve a minimumÌýSGPA of 3.70
The academic year runs fromÌýSeptember 1 to August 31.

Transfer students:ÌýOnce you complete 30 credit hours over two academic termsÌýat HÂþ» University,Ìýyou’llÌýautomatically be assessed for merit-based in-course scholarships.
Your in-course scholarship is applied to your next year of study.Ìý
- For example, if you qualify based on your second-year credit hours and SGPA, you will receive the funding in your third year.
- To receive the funding,Ìýyou must be registered full-time.
One co-op work term
You must:
- CompleteÌý30 credit hours overÌýtwo academic termsÌý(fall, winter, or summer)
- Achieve aÌýminimum SGPA of 3.70
One academic term plus one work term is not sufficient.

Two co-op work terms
You must:
- CompleteÌý15 credit hours in one academic term
- Achieve aÌýminimum GPA of 3.70 in that term

Eligibility requirements
- Full-time undergraduate student at HÂþ» (minimum 9 credit hours per term or a co-op work-term) in theÌýpreviousÌýacademic year (at least two terms)
- Registered full-time (or on co-op) for the current academicÌýyear inÌýgood academic standing
- Demonstrated a significant level of involvement and dedication to the HÂþ» community through the areas of leadership, citizenship, and/orÌýsportsmanship.
Deadline
Applications typically close in late November. The exact deadline will be posted closer to the application period.
TheÌýW. Andrew MacKay Alumni ScholarshipÌýrecognizes undergraduate HÂþ» students whoÌýdemonstrateÌýleadership, citizenship, and/or sportsmanship, along with meaningful involvement in the HÂþ» community.
Award value
- Several awards valued betweenÌý$1,500–$3,000Ìý(amounts vary each year)

- Currently registered full-time at HÂþ» during the term of application
- MinimumÌýCGPA of 3.30
- Students at the University of King’s College and the Faculty of Agriculture are not eligible
Nomination process
- StudentsÌýmust be nominatedÌýby their department head, dean, or school director
- Each department, college, or school may nominateÌýone student per year
- UnitsÌýare responsible forÌýmanaging their own selection process
