Facility & Resources

The Sensory Neurotronics Lab is located on the 2nd floor of the Sir Charles Tupper Medical Building. Led by Dr. Olivier Valentin, the lab brings together research assistants and graduate students working at the intersection of hearing health, cognitive neuroscience, and medical technology, with the goal of advancing patient care and enhancing quality of life through innovative, interdisciplinary approaches.

The lab is equipped with a double-walled IAC audiometric test room, suitable for speech-perception and psychoacoustic experiments. Thanks to a recent CFI-JELF grant co-secured by Dr. Valentin and Dr. Jafari, the lab has access to state-of-the-art equipment for recording electrophysiological activity (EEG), hemodynamic activity (fNIRS), and pupillometric activity, enabling a multimodal approach to studying the brain and sensory systems.
