From April 23-25 2023, Dal-AC participated in the “World Congress 2023; Collective Intelligence†in Montreal, Quebec. Â
Margie Hartling and Audrie-Jo McConkey, senior instructors in the Department of Animal Science and Aquaculture, were joined by David Parks, Project and Advancement Coordinator, International, to present Dal-AC’s experiences with international in-person and virtual education.
Audrie-Jo and David shared recent examples of Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) which has provided Dal-AC students with virtual opportunities to collaborate with students from Kenya, Netherlands, South Africa and the United States, while Margie presented her international in-person project experiences delivering competency-based education and training in India, Saint Lucia and Uganda.
Presentations were followed by a dynamic Q&A session, with attendees curious to learn more about Dal-AC’s achievements in internationalization, and how it has enhanced learning experiences for our students while demonstrating our institutional commitment to global engagement and sustainable development.
