Advising Services:


To serve you better, we offer in-person appointments, virtual appointments (Microsoft Teams), and drop-in advising.

Immigration Advising


Halifax students: To book an in-person or virtual appointment, please go to our  and select "Immigration Degree Seeking." 

  • Drop-in advising:
    • We offer daily drop-in immigration advising from 2-4 p.m. at the International Centre (Studley campus).
    • We offer weekly drop-in immigration advising at the Melda Murray Student Centre (Sexton campus) every Wednesday from 1-4 p.m. 
    • We offer bi-weekly drop-in immigration advising at the Student Success Centre (Truro campus) every second Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1 to 3 p.m.

Immigration support for former international students

The International Centre provides immigration advising support to current international students at HÂþ»­ and King’s. Once you have completed your program, our services are limited to:

  • Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) Applications
  • Temporary Resident Visa (TRV) Applications (for those who have received a PGWP)

For all other immigration matters, such as permanent residency pathways or work permit extensions beyond the PGWP, we encourage graduated students to consult a licensed immigration professional or refer to  for guidance.

Study Abroad & Exchange Advising


Students who are interested in study abroad opportunities, are currently studying abroad, or are visiting HÂþ»­ on an inbound study abroad opportunity can visit the Study Abroad website for contact information.
